Jake Paul offered world title shot - on condition he leaves boxing if he loses

Jake Paul has been offered a cruiserweight world title clash - but it could also mean the end of his young professional boxing career.

YouTube star Paul is 3-0 as a pro with TKO victories over fellow social media influencer AnEsonGib, NBA player Nate Robinson and ex-UFC fighter Ben Askren.

But he could be heading for a world title shot, after a video of cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis calling him out was released by promoter Kalle Sauerland.

The Wasserman boxing boss, who also promotes Chris Eubank Jr, tweeted their unique offer to 24-year-old Paul of a clash for the IBF cruiserweight championship clash against 24-1 Briedis.

He tweeted a video of Briedis taunting the former Disney actor with the caption: "Hey Jake Paul - happy to arrange you taking a shot at Mairis Briedis' belts, only condition if you lose you have to leave boxing... Deal?"

Paul had been gearing more towards fighting another MMA competitor in a crossover fight with Dillon Danis appearing to be the frontrunner and UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman's manager Ali Abdelaziz claiming talks are underway.

He also instigated a brawl with 50-0 boxing legend Floyd Mayweather at a media event this month, after Mayweather claimed he would fight the internet star on the same night as his exhibition with brother Logan.

With a 3-0 record and strong boxing minds like coach BJ Flores and training partner J'Leon Love in his corner, its unlikely that Paul will even respond to the offer, but it's an indication of his impact in the sport.

The YouTuber is reported to have sold 1.5 million pay-per-views for his fight with Ben Askren last month, which lands him a spot on the list of top selling boxing PPVs ever.

It was his first time as a headliner, with his second pro outing taking place on the undercard of the Mike Tyson v Roy Jones Jr exhibition fight last year, which also hit the top 10 list in number seven.

His pro debut took place on streaming service DAZN, so viewing figures are unknown, but his amateur bow against fellow YouTuber Deji Olatunji took place on the undercard of KSI v Logan Paul 1, which did 1.3m PPV buys - albeit at an especially low price of £7.50.

He has expressed an ultimate goal of fighting UFC legend Conor McGregor in what would be a gigantic fight - and reportedly offered a whopping £35million to try and make it happen, which was ignored.
