Jake Paul explains true motivation behind desire to beat YouTube rival KSI

Jake Paul has declared the main reason he wants to face KSI is his brother Logan's reaction to losing to the Brit when they fought in 2019.

The elder Paul brother has since made up with KSI and formed a drinks company called Prime which could make the pair billionaires, but there is still bad blood between the families. Jake has struggled to come terms with the result, and has never managed to fix his relationship with the Brit.

Talks are ongoing between the two sides, but things appear to have thawed between the pair lately and Paul appears to be heading towards another fight. In the meantime, KSI will face Joe Fournier on May 13 at the OVO Arena, Wembley in his first effort against a professional boxer.

"If it wasn't for seeing how the fight affected my brother I don't think I would even give a f***," he told Wade Plemons during a recent livestream. "I'm really still doing this for Logan, I saw this shatter my brother, he grabbed me and said 'yo, you need to go f***ing beat this kid'. I know deep down Logan wants nothing more than to see me knock out KSI, I know he won't say that."

The pair have had a lengthy feud that dates back to KSI's boxing debut, when he called out the Paul brothers in the immediate aftermath of his stoppage win over Joe Weller. Ultimately, Jake ended up facing fellow younger sibling Deji while Logan took on KSI at the Manchester Arena, with over 1.2million watching on pay-per-view.

Paul has since gone on to establish himself as a professional boxer, going 6-1 with his most recent result being a tight split decision loss to Tommy Fury, who in his own right is a legitimate prospect. KSI has flirted with the idea of fighting Fury and the pair's teams have talked, but it remains to be seen if that bout will take place.

Speaking to Mirror Fighting ahead of his return to the ring back in January against Faze Temperrr, KSI detailed his contract demands for the bout, saying: "Weight-wise, I'd love it to be 176lb, 177lb, but 180lb sounds perfectly fair, maybe even slap a rehydration clause - I know he'd want that!

"It has to be in the UK, I think I'm definitely the A-Side, I walk second, ring size I think it should be a nice 20-foot ring and I think that's it that's on my mind. I'm sure there's other things money-wise that Mams [Taylor, his manager] and Nakisa [Bidarian, Paul's manager] can deal with. 50-50 seems fair. I don't think it should be 60-40 in anyone's favour or anything. 50-50 makes sense."
