Jake Paul doubles down on "chicken" Conor McGregor after making £50m offer

YouTube star Jake Paul believes Conor McGregor is scared of fighting him, and branded the former two-weight UFC champion a “chicken” for choosing to fight former interim champion Dustin Poirier instead of him.

Paul, who has two professional boxing fights on his resume – against a fellow YouTuber and a former NBA player – believes he should be next in line to face ‘The Notorious’, and wants to face him in a boxing ring rather than a mixed martial arts cage.

The YouTuber recently sold off his Calabasas home in order to move to Miami to focus on his boxing career off the back of his two first-round wins over the debutants.

He’s made no secret of his desire to fight McGregor, even going so far as to make a video for Instagram in which he claimed to have offered the Irishman $50million to fight him.

McGregor didn’t publicly comment on that ‘offer’, instead choosing to take on former UFC interim champ Poirier on Fight Island instead at UFC257.

Now, Paul has doubled down on his verbal onslaught and produced a video for his Instagram page to call out McGregor again.

Paul appeared to have rented out a chicken restaurant for the video, and used the opportunity to brand McGregor – who beat Donald Cerrone in 46 seconds in his last trip to the octagon – a chicken.

He said in

: “I love all chickens, besides Conor McGregor. He is the world's biggest chicken.

“Conor, you were just talking about me in the media saying, 'If it (fight between Jake Paul and Conor McGregor) makes money, it makes sense.

“I offered you $50 million, you're getting paid $5million to fight Dustin Poirier. I think you're a chicken.”

The video continued with Paul having a mock conversation with two pieces of fried chicken with McGregor and Dillon Danis (McGregor’s wrestling coach, who Paul also wants to box), with both saying they’re too scared to fight the 24-year-old.

He continued: “You have never been offered $50million to fight someone, meanwhile you’re sparring guys who get knocked out by this dude,” accompanied by a brief clip of one of McGregor’s sparring partners getting knocked out.

McGregor recently dismissed Paul’s callouts by referring to him as “the YouTube kid”, and reminding him that his Pay-Per-View success came as a result of being on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s comeback against Roy Jones Jr.
