Jake Paul conspiracy theories debunked after fans claim Tyron Woodley KO was fixed

Jake Paul brutally stopped Tyron Woodley last night in Florida, much to the dismay of mixed martial arts fans around the world.

Woodley is one of the great welterweight champions in UFC history, but has been on a losing streak of late that saw him released from the organisation after four losses.

And his misery was compounded when, after accepting the short-notice rematch, Woodley was viciously knocked out cold at the Amalie Arena.

A crowd of over 18,000 watched live in the venue, while hundreds of thousands more watched at home as Paul put a full stop on his year-long rivalry with the UFC legend.

And fans around the world who were hurt to see the cocky social media star land the big finish have theorised that the fix was in.

However, there is minimal evidence to any of the claims, and we've decided to take a look at all of the claims and check their legitimacy...

Jake Paul signalled the KO shot was coming

One Twitter user garnered over 40,000 views on his theory that Jake Paul gestured before the shot came in, to let Tyron Woodley know to go down.

It's a massive reach, as Paul's hand twitches in a way that one would have to be very eagle-eyed to notice in the middle of a noisy arena.

Woodley and Paul were, at this point, 18 minutes into a gruelling boxing match and visibly tired.

It's much more likely that Paul in fact had worked his way to throwing the shot throughout the fight, feigning that he would throw a body punch to get Woodley to drop his hand.

If anything, this theory may in fact be partially true, in that Paul had been creating an understanding that certain movements meant he would go downstairs, so he could stun Woodley with a ginormous right hand to the head.

But does it mean Woodley knew beforehand what to look out for? Almost certainly not.

VERDICT: Repeat after me... Tyron Woodley is a former UFC world champion. He did not agree to be knocked out cold for your entertainment.

The fight was choreographed like 'Creed'

Michael B Jordan was in attendance on the night to film some scenes for the third Creed film, which is currently in production.

But some fans feel that the infamous clip of Jordan being 'knocked out' by Tony Bellew while filming the first movie holds the key for Woodley's stoppage against Paul.

This theory is so fanciful that it almost isn't worth debunking.

The actor leaned into a worked punch from Bellew and flopped to the ground in a way that barely resembles Woodley at all.

Paul's right hand was clearly thrown with venom, unlike the obviously staged effort from Bellew.
