Jake Paul claims Tommy Fury could pull out of fight despite $2million purse

Jake Paul has claimed that Tommy Fury has 24 hours to secure his rescheduled fight or he will move on with other plans.

The YouTube star and Fury were set to touch gloves last December but the British star was forced to withdraw from the bout, after suffering a broken rib and bacterial chest infection.

Talks have since been ongoing over a rescheduled bout with Paul having already announced his plans to return to the ring on August 6 at Madison Square Garden.

Paul has issued a final ultimatum to Fury on social media, tweeting: " Tommy Fury, you pulled out last year. Then you agree to fight me now but your dad is trying to pull you out again? We’ve given you everything you asked for. $2 million purse. VADA testing. Tampons. You have 24 hours to clear this up or I will never give you this opportunity again."

The Briton's father John cast doubts on the fight earlier today after a video appeared to confirm his heavyweight champion son Tyson's travel ban from the US. Fury Sr had also distanced himself from fight talks earlier in the week hitting out at Paul branding him a "t*****."

Fury opted to call out Paul just minutes after his previous victory at Wembley Stadium in April in a bid to end "bum" Paul's career. His rival was contemplating several other options including UFC legend Anderson Silva and retired boxing star Mike Tyson.

However it appears Fury has leapt to the front of the queue to share the ring with Paul.

Despite being initially uncertain about handing Fury another chance, Paul's long-term trainer Danny Smith claimed the fight was "90 per cent done" and believes he is the right opponent for Fury to fight next.

“I'd probably say that we're around 90 per cent done but we're just waiting on their end," Smith told Vegas Insider. "We're good on our end. Whatever particulars that need to be worked out there end that's what we're waiting on.

"I think without question [Tommy Fury is the right fight for Jake]. I like it because Tommy is a very fast foot guy, very fast hands and he moves around and understands distance and range, he boxes fairly well. It's going to be really, really good.

He's not a huge puncher, but decent, with the right hand he is pretty decent.

"I think that it's a really, really good step up for both guys to be honest with. The reason I'm picking Jake to beat Tommy is because Jake has more of a dog mentality, the bigger puncher, and he's willing to trade. We've noticed that with a lot of sparring partners because they get in there and they're like: 'wow, it's a life or death situation in there with him and he's better than we thought' the world is going to see that."
