Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley landed exactly the same number of punches in rematch

Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley both landed 43 punches - but it was the YouTube star's final one which put a concussive end to their rivalry.

Paul landed a vicious right hand in the sixth round to send Woodley crashing to the canvas after the ex-UFC champion took the bout on two weeks' notice.

And the pair had landed the same number of punches before the bout was waved off, according to the CompuBox statistics.

Woodley threw 184 punches, 14 more than Paul who had a 25 per cent connection rate relative to the MMA star's 23 per cent.

Paul landed an impressive 41 per cent of his power punches with 25 of his 61, while Woodley threw a whopping 117, of which he landed 33 per cent or 39 punches.

The bout was a drab affair for the majority of the six rounds, with the 18,685-strong Tampa crowd loudly booing as the pair clinched up for a large portion of the bout.

However, it took a stunning turn when Paul lined up a right hand in the sixth that knocked the veteran MMA fighter out cold to the delight of the audience.

Paul has now stopped all four of his opponents in his five professional fights, and is expected to take some time out of the sport before returning in the second quarter of next year.

"This is as real as it f***ing gets, just like my right hand," Paul said during his post-fight interview. "I told you I was going to f*** him up and I f***ed him up!

"This guy is a legend, don't take anything from his career as a UFC champion and respect him for taking this fight on two weeks' notice.

"Because Tommy Fury is a b**** and he backed out of the fight, this is a real fighter, a real dog and a warrior.

"That's a tough fighter right there; a legend."

"It was a tough fight, the blood was getting in my eye from when he elbowed me. He threw me on the ground, fought dirty, head-butted, but it is what it is.

"I knew what I was doing, I was setting up the shot the whole fight and he didn't see it coming.

"He was catching, catching, catching came around and 'good morning'! It's got to be the greatest moment of my life, look at what I just did."

YouTube star Paul has fought four times in the last 13 months, all of which were a part of a massive pay-per-view event.

He brutally knocked out basketball star Nate Robinson in November last year, before he stopped Olympic wrestler and ex-Bellator champion Ben Askren in April.

And that fight set up a tough test against Woodley in August, which he won by split decision.

He was supposed to face Tommy Fury last night, but the Brit pulled out due to a rib injury and a chest infection, so Woodley stepped in.
