Jake Paul and Ebanie Bridges get into Twitter spat after YouTuber claims Amanda Serrano was 'robbed'

Australian boxer Ebanie Bridges and YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul exchanged insults over Twitter yesterday. The argument started when the American tweeted out punch stats to prove Amanda Serrano deserved victory over Katie Taylor.

The younger Paul brother was ringside to watch Serrano fall to narrow split-decision defeat in an historic undisputed title clash at Madison Square Garden. Paul says he was was unhappy with the decision to award Taylor the victory and says the Puerto Rican fighter was "robbed".

Following the fight he posted a screenshot of punch statistics showing that Serrano had indeed out-landed Taylor 173 punches to 147. He captioned the tweet: "Amanda Serrano out-landed Katie Taylor in landed punches both to the body and head. Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don’t."

But Bridges tweeted the online personality back, and questioned if he really knew how boxing worked. She said: "No Jake, I'm sorry but it doesn't work like this.

"If boxing was just judged on total punches landed at end of fight we wouldn't need judges, just a tally. This post shows how little you know about boxing and I actually like what you're doing for women's boxing, but no, this post is casual as f***."

Taylor came close to being stopped earlier in the fight after the hard-hitting Serrano led an onslaught in the sixth round. However the Irish star recovered with brave defiance and produced a scintillating finish to the contest, reported the Mirror.

Paul and Taylor had shared stern words prior to the meeting with Serrano, after Taylor claimed that Paul "knew nothing" about being involved in a historic boxing fight. The YouTube star quickly hit back at Taylor accusing her and promoter Eddie Hearn of "talking s***."

"Katie I appreciate you thanking me for making this fight happen at a level Eddie never could," he tweeted in response to her interview. But the only thing real is you, your team and Eddie talk a lot of s*** but can’t back it up. Respect on your legacy. But Amanda Serrano is the greatest female boxer of all time."

Two of the judges opted to hand Taylor the nod with scores of 97-93 and 96-93 which saw the split-decision handed to Taylor. Serrano was awarded the fight 96-94 by the third judge.

Taylor was delighted with her display and believes any rematch between the pair should be taken to home soil in Ireland. "Absolutely. We have to do this again," she told reporters. "It was an absolute war for 10 rounds. I'm grateful to be in this position and sell out Madison Square Garden. Look what we've just done.

"We all want to see the best vs the best. Yeah, absolutely, a rematch would be absolutely phenomenal. If it was in Dublin, we could sell out Croke Park, if you think the atmosphere was special here tonight, imagine the rematch in front of 80,000 people in Croke Park. Absolutely amazing."
