Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor could be on the cards, with the former revealing the two camps “talk constantly” about setting up a fight.
Paul has called out the UFC superstar on numerous occasions, with the YouTuber-turned-boxer looking to set up a big money encounter.
Paul takes on Tyron Woodley this weekend in Florida, with his trainer BJ Flores confirming they will take on another fight after that, although he didn’t confirm who the opponent could be.
McGregor could prove to be an option – Paul is advised by Nakisa Bidarian, the former UFC CFO, and has worked with McGregor’s manager Audi Attar.
The Irishman though is prohibited from competing outside of UFC while under contract with the organisation, although president Dana White did allow him to face Floyd Mayweather in the ring back in 2017.
Paul hopes White will give his blessing again, with discussions ongoing about a potential meeting.
"If Dana would ever let Conor out of his contract to set up the boxing match, I think that's what is needed to make it happen,” Paul told Graham Bensinger.
"And I think that will, I think it will happen and if Conor is going to just continue to lose fights.
"He's 1-4 in the past five years - then there's not much Dana will be able to do with him anyway. So cash him out one more time.
"But his manager is good friends with my manager and another one of my advisors and they talk constantly about making it happen.
"They're like, 'yeah we're down, we're about it'."
Paul faces Woodley again this weekend, having beaten the former UFC champion back in August.
The fight was quickly scheduled after Tommy Fury pulled out of their contest, with Paul having ruled out any chance of rescheduling against the Manchester-born fighter.
"I don't think a fight will ever happen. I don't want to give him the opportunity. He had his shot,” Paul told Showtime TV.
"I'd like to see him have to fight 20 more times to even get the same payday he was going to get versus me. Sorry Tommy, it's not going to happen."
