Jake Paul agrees to short-notice rule change for Nate Diaz boxing fight

Jake Paul's fight against Nate Diaz will be the longest of the YouTuber's career after the pair agreed to go 10 rounds in the ring.

Paul, 26, is scheduled to face UFC legend Diaz, 38, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on August 5. The fight will mark Paul's first since being beaten by Love Island star Tommy Fury in February. Diaz will make his ring debut on the night having parted ways with the UFC last September after a 15-year tenure in the promotion.

The fight was originally booked for eight rounds, but Paul has now agreed to a rule change that will see him and Diaz battle it out for 10 rounds. "I guess he has good cardio. Ok Nathan, 10 rounds it is," Paul tweeted. 'The Problem Child' had previously discussed the possibility of his fight against Diaz being 10 rounds during an episode of his B/S podcast.

Paul has never been scheduled to fight for 10 rounds during his ring career, whilst the longest Diaz has been booked to compete for was 25 minutes in the UFC. Diaz is known for his outstanding cardio and ability to withstand punches, two attributes that led to his career changing win against Conor McGregor in 2016.

The YouTube boxer has been fairly respectful of Diaz during the build-up to their fight, but that will likely change when Paul releases the ' diss track ' that he has planned. During a recent tour of his new $16million house, Paul said: "The music studio being here means it's time to make a song again. Maybe two songs. I want to make a Nate Diaz diss track and maybe just another song, kind of like fresh out of London vibes."

Diaz was linked to a fight against Paul for months after butting heads with the social media star online. He was finally able to secure the clash after tapping out Tony Ferguson in his final UFC fight last September. Diaz became a free agent as his contract expired after the win, but a UFC return could still be on the cards for Diaz after his fight against Paul.

Paul came face-to-face with Diaz for the first time ahead of their fight in a bizarre press conference that took place last month. There were several heart-in-mouth moments, such as when the rivals started shadow-boxing during their staredown. Paul mocked Diaz by bringing out a clapping toy monkey whilst the UFC legend even exited the stage at one point to use the toilet.
