John Fury has accused Jake Paul of making “bizarre” demands for his upcoming fight with Tommy Fury.
The pair have finally had their grudge match confirmed following months of back and forth on social media, with the bout set to go ahead on December 18 in Florida.
Contract negotiations have been ongoing ever since Paul and Fury won their respective bouts in August, with Frank Warren confirming last month he was looking over the details.
A deal was finally struck last week, although it wasn’t without its challenges, with Tommy’s father John revealing they had agreed to everything laid out by Paul.
"They're being awkward," Fury Sr told BT Sport Boxing. "The contract has been bizarre. If I was going to go through what they've put in the contract we'd be here all day.
"I've said yes to everything; yes, yes, yes, yes; do what you've got to do because I know Jake Paul can't beat Tommy no matter what he does."
One clause that has been much-discussed is one which would see Fury have to change his name should he lose to Paul.
Having been given the idea by Tyson Fury after the world heavyweight champion said he would change his brother’s name if he lost, Paul then drafted it into a contract.
The clause stipulated that the YouTuber would pay Fury an extra $500,000 if the Love Island star won, while the name change would be in place for a year.
Paul posted a picture of part of the contract on social media which read: "If Fury is declared the winner of the Bout, Paul hereby agrees to pay Fury Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) directly from Paul's purse as an additional fighter bonus.
"However, if Paul is declared the winner of the Bout, Fury hereby agrees to (i) commence, within thirty (30) days of the conclusion of the Bout, an application process with the Royal Courts of Justice in the United Kingdom to obtain a deed poll legally changing Fury's name to "Tommy Fumbles," (ii) change, within twenty four (24) hours of the Bout, all of his social media accounts to reflect the name "Tommy Fumbles:, and (iii) immediately after the Bout utilise the name "Tommy Fumbles" in all forms of media..."
It is not yet clear whether that agreement was signed, although all might be revealed when the pair come face-to-face for the first time at a press conference in Las Vegas on Saturday.
They will then hold a similar event two days later, with tickets for the fight going on sale on the same day.
