Rangers have won the race to sign Motherwell starlet Jake Hastie.
Record Sport understands that the Steelmen's attacking midfielder has agreed the terms and conditions on a three-year deal with an optional fourth term and all that that remains is for Hastie to put pen to paper on the contract for Steven Gerrard's men.
Despite offering the 20-year-old a new deal Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson conceded defeat in his bid to make Hastie commit his future to the Steelmen.
The Northern Irishman revealed on the eve of Saturday's Premiership Lanarkshire derby with Hamilton that Hastie would be quitting the Steelmen when his contract expired at the end of the season.
Hastie - who is also believed to have other offers on the table from English clubs - was keen to move to Rangers and tie up the formalities of the deal ahead of the summer transfer window.
The youngster has made a massive impact for Robinson’s side this season and has bagged seven goals in 14 games for Motherwell after spending the first half of the season on loan at Jim Goodwin's Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship.
The player netted in Motherwell's Premiership wins over Livingston, St Mirren Hearts and Hamilton as well as League and Scottish Cup losses to Aberdeen and Ross County respectively.
Hastie's blistering form also saw him rewarded with his first international call-up when he was drafted into Scot Gemmill's under 21 squad last month and featured in both friendly matches against Mexico and Sweden in Marbella.
