Towie star Jake Hall reportedly made several suicide attempts before his shocking death last week.
The 35-year-old former reality star died from a chest injury caused by broken glass after reportedly running through a patio door while partying at a villa in Majorca.
He was found dead in the early hours of the morning last Wednesday, with police treating his death as accidental.
Hall - who shared an eight-year-old daughter with his ex Misse Beqiri - allegedly had “real problems” with alcohol and drugs and was “lost and lonely” before his death.
The “distressed” designer reportedly tried to take his life several times over the past few years after falling into a downward spiral a friend said was sparked by his time on ITV reality show Towie in 2015.
“Jake was killed by Towie. Being famous and rich was the worst thing that could have happened to him. Being on the show was the worst thing he could have done, it sent him off the rails. He was very up and down and had a real problem with booze and drugs,” a friend told the Mail.

They added: “He made a suicide attempt around two years ago and there were some times before that where he had said that he was going to kill himself as well. There were a few attempts. We weren't sure if it was about attention but he was distressed for sure.
“He was very down and the drugs and alcohol had gone from being fun to actually breaking him. He was a beautiful boy but so lonely and so lost.”
The friend added that his ex Beqiri and his friends do not believe his death was suicide and was accidental.
“She is heartbroken by this for their daughter. He was a very good father and adored River. She thinks it wasn't suicide but just partying that got out of hand, and so do his friends,” they said.
Hall’s worst injury was reportedly a chest wound caused by a shard of glass from the door he apparently crashed into.
The autopsy is believed to have taken place in Palma, but the results will be sent to the investigating judge and not be officially released, as is typical in Spain.
Police confirmed Hall’s death is being treated as accidental, with a Civil Guard spokesman saying: “There is nothing pointing to it being the result of a crime at this stage.”
The investigating judge will only order the Civil Guard to inquire further if he suspects any criminality has occurred. A post-mortem will be carried out to determine if there were drink and drugs in Hall’s system.
Hall, who was previously “stabbed” at a nightclub, was said to have been “agitated” before he died, possibly from alcohol and other substances he had consumed.
Witnesses told police “he had been out partying all night and decided to carry on the party back at the place he was renting”.
Four men and two women staying at the house are thought to have been questioned.
A slew of Towie stars have paid tribute to him, including James Argent and Georgia Harrison.
Beqiri shared a lengthy statement, penning: “I never thought I would ever have to write this, and the pain of even putting these words down feels unbearable.
“There was no way you were ever supposed to go. My heart is shattered, and so is our daughter’s.
“You lit up every room you walked into – your smile, your charm, your energy that filled the air. The way you loved music, how deeply you felt every sound, your creativity, your mind, your spirit.
“You were so deeply loved by so many people, and seeing the love everyone has for you is both heartbreaking and beautiful all at once.”
She concluded: “You will be missed. I promise to keep River safe, loved, and wrapped in the kind of love you gave so effortlessly. You are at peace now.”
Hours before he died, he shared an Instagram video of himself painting, strolling around the Spanish streets and hanging out with River and captioned it: “Life is b******s sometimes but I’m gonna try remember the good things – ️ looking through things – I’m just making art – in many forms.”
Hall’s death comes a decade after he was reportedly stabbed at a nightclub.
He was believed to have been attacked during a night out with friends at the Aqwa Mist club in Puerto Banus in the south of Spain.

During the fight, witnesses claimed they saw men grabbing for broken glass from champagne bottles and the shisha pipes they had been smoking on.
The TV personality, then 24, was taken to hospital by his friends. He was stabbed in his right side and his kidney was affected, according to reports.
He shared a photo of himself lying in hospital after the incident and told fans: "Thank you so much for everyone's amazing support and getting me through this.
“I'm getting better thank to everyone. Can't get rid of me that easily."
