Jake Doyle-Hayes ‘nears’ Hibs transfer as Dundee United move falls through

Jake Doyle-Hayes is set to sign for Hibs after a move to Dundee United fell through, according to a report.

The midfielder is a free agent after leaving St Mirren and appeared to be on the brink of signing for the Tannadice club.

But they then pulled out of signing him after it emerged he had been speaking to other clubs and delaying his final decision to see what other offers came.

And now it appears that he could be on his way to Easter Road with Jack Ross seemingly keen to sign him ahead of the new campaign.

BBC Scotland say Doyle-Hayes is 'signing' for Hibs and a deal could be completed soon for him to join training at East Mains.

The Irish youngster only signed for St Mirren last summer but impressed as part of Jim Goodwin's side as they reached the Betfred Cup Final and challenged for top six.

The 22-year-old started his career at Aston Villa before loan spells at Cambridge and Cheltenham before eventually moving north of the border.

The Hibees have signed Jamie Murphy on a free from Rangers while Daniel Mackay signed from Inverness Caley Thistle.

They’ve also allowed former Saints midfielder Stephen McGinn to leave, as have youngsters Fraser Murray and Callum Yeats while David Gray retired.
