JAISALMER: Despite sweltering heat at the international border adjoining Jaisalmer, BSF jawans are discharging their duty without fail.
Besides, the jawans have also launched campaigns to facilitate residents of border villages by providing medical facilities and water tankers.
The temperatures have crossed 47 degrees in these areas. The heat is so severe that if you stay for 10 minutes it appears that you will melt down, but the jawans are patrolling and guarding the country. They are wearing caps, covering their faces, wearing goggles and carrying water bottles.
Sector North BSF DIG Aseem Vyas said that the Indo-Pak border is reeling under severe heat wave and jawans are bravely guarding the border. They are taking all preventive measures and also taking care of the border population.
Sector South BSF DIG Anand Singh Takshak said that the jawans have been provided goggles, caps, etc., along with water bottles and during the duty in daytime they are provided lemon water 3-4 times. The jawans are provided onion, glucose, etc., also.
