JAIPUR: Jaipur police said that stringent action will be taken against those who have been posting inciting messages on social media to stir up trouble.
Jaipur police commissioner Anand Shrivastava said that entry to the Amagarh Fort has been restricted and no one will be allowed to congregate there.
Some outfits had exhorted people to assemble at the hill fort on August 1. “The entire area comes under the forest department. No one is permitted to go there and we have also cordoned off the area. Adequate security arrangements are in place,” he said.
The commissioner also said that the police will issue notices to people who have been making incendiary posts on social media platforms. The police said that the investigation into FIRs filed in the Amagarh case is underway and no one would be allowed to sow hatred.
Independent MLA Ramkesh Meena also met the police commissioner on Friday and said that he will take out a Shanti March (peace rally) on August 1 from Gandhi Circle to Civil Lines crossing.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Kirori Lal Meena said that tribals who have converted to another religion should not be entitled to the reservation. “If any Meena or tribal, for instance, who has converted to another religion and become a Christian or a Muslim, then that person should not be entitled to the reservation because they are no longer ST (Scheduled Tribe),” he said, adding that he had demanded that people who have converted should be removed from the reservation benefits.
He also took out a rally with his supporters outside the Jaipur police commissionerate on Friday. He said that he intends to visit the Amagarh fort on August 1.
