JAIPUR: A married woman has accused at least three men of gangrape. Police have lodged a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Police said the woman was alone at her house on Thursday evening when some persons entered her house forcibly. “Her father-in-law too had gone out. Later the woman was given sedatives and was found at an isolated area on the outskirts of her village,” said a senior police official on Friday.
Police said the woman mentioned that she was abducted and raped. "She has also alleged that she sustained injuries as the three men overpowered her and thrashed her," the official said.
Police on Friday took the woman for medical examination. “We have lodged a case under appropriate sections of the IPC. It was also found that the woman’s husband is in jail for raping a minor. The FIR lodged by the woman is against the people who had accused her husband of rape. Despite all this, we are probing the case properly,” the official added.
