CALANGUTE: Two persons from Jaipur were arrested by Calangute police on Sunday for allegedly cheating a shopping portal of Rs 1.2 lakh.
The two, identified as Lakshay Gupta, 20, and Harsh Gupta, 22, residing at Calangute, had ordered a camera costing Rs 1.2 lakh online, but subsequently returned it claiming “received different product”. They asked for a replacement which the portal delivered.
However, the portal discovered that the returned product was fake following which a complaint of cheating was registered and both the accused were tracked down with the assistance of Calangute police and arrested.
Further investigations are on, according to Calangute police.
