JAIPUR: A 22-year-old youth partying with his friends at a hotel situated near 200 Feet Bypass in Vaishali Nagar was killed in a violent fight with the hotel staff during early hours on Monday. Almost 12 hours after the incident, police arrested nine persons including some hotel staff and employees of a furniture store on charges of assault and murder.
According to police, six friends had booked a room at a hotel in Vaishali Nagar and were partying.
“At 2.45 am, when two of them identified as Pushpendra and Monu were chatting in the gallery of the hotel, one of the hotel employees asked them to go inside their room. This irked them and it triggered a verbal spat. Later the spat turned into a violent confrontation in which hotel staff including cooks joined and started beating the youths with frying pan and other things used in the kitchen,” said police.
As the hotel staff screamed when the deceased attempted to flee the scene, the staff of a nearby furniture showroom also joined the fight. They all assaulted the six friends. “In the altercation, Vishal Yadav sustained fatal head injuries. Yadav, who runs a food stall, was rushed to SMS Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” the officer added.
“The nine arrested, included employees of the hotel, identified as Suresh (29), Prahlad (25), Aman (22) and Anil (19). Other arrested employees of the furniture showroom were identified as Lakhan (22), Mukesh (32), Lal Chand (24), and Mahendra (26),” the officer added.
