The charango is like a ukulele on steroids: a 10-stringed instrument twanged up and down the steppes of South America’s Andes. Enter legendary Argentinian folklorist Jaime Torres – dubbed the “Jimi Hendrix of the charango” – who, over the past four decades, has shared the stage with Mercedes Sosa, Pavarotti and Eric Clapton.
