Jail journal of journalist arrested in Nigeria

Ed Kashi, the photo-journalist arrested in Nigeria while taking pictures of an oil facility for National Geographic magazine (see June 18 posting), kept a journal during his three days in jail. The excerpts in the San Francisco Chronicle reveal that he and his Nigerian assistant, Elias, went on hunger strike, and thought they were about to die. (Via SFGate: Top News Stories)
