A sex attacker who shouted "happy days" after being convicted of raping two young girls has been locked up for 12 years.
Joseph Law, 44, struck while apparently looking after the victims.
The pair were aged just three and 11 when Law began preying on them at different addresses in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire.
He later tried to get one of the victims not to testify against him.
Law was today sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.
He had previously been convicted of rape and lewd and libidinous conduct against one of the girls as well as raping the other.
He was further guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
After the trial last month, Law yelled towards jurors "Goodbye ... happy days" as he was lead to the cells.
There was no further outbursts today as he appeared via video-link from prison.
Lord Matthews told him: "You have been convicted of a catalogue of vile abuse."
Law will be supervised for a further two years on his release.
He was also hit with a non-harassment order banning him from contacting the victims for an indefinite period.
The attacks occurred between 2009 and 2014.
The older of the two victims told jurors how, after one incident, Law said she had now "become a woman".
She later confided in her mother what had gone on.
But, the victim told prosecutor Chris McKenna: "She confronted him and he said I was lying...that it was lies."
She recalled being frightened of Law.
The witness went on: "He told me he could kill my mum if I told her. I was also scared no one would believe me."
Prosecutors stated in August 2019 that Law contacted this victim while in HMP Addiewell.
This was said to be an attempt to get her to deny she had given statements to police and to "refuse to answer questions" at trial.
The court was told last month that Law had previously been locked up for 18 months in 2017 for a campaign of violence against six children.
His lawyer Ann Ogg said: "He maintains his innocence to these (latest) offences."
