JACKSONVILLE, Fla. _ The Jaguars listed cornerback Jalen Ramsey as questionable to play Sunday against the Denver Broncos following the birth of second child.
Coach Doug Marrone said after Friday's practice Ramsey's second child was born and both mom and baby are healthy. Ramsey was permitted to leave the team on Wednesday to be with his family in Nashville.
?First of all, congratulations to Jalen and his family on the birth of his second daughter,? Marrone said. ?Obviously personal with the baby being born and then obviously with his low back, we're going to make it questionable probably just because of right where it is."
The Jaguars prepared for both scenarios if Ramsey does not play or rejoins the team prior to the game.
?We have a plan either way if he's back and when he gets back from the birth,? defensive coordinator Todd Wash said. ?We'll see how it plays.?
Second-year cornerback Tre Herndon got most of the first-team snaps in place of Ramsey this week. In Week 2, Herndon started in place of cornerback A.J. Bouye, who was out with a hip injury.
?If we don't have Jalen, we still have a game to win,? starting nickel cornerback D.J. Hayden said Friday. I feel 100% confident that with this defense, we're going to go out there and not skip a beat.?.
The Jaguars (1-2) are seeking their second straight win after beating Tennessee 20-7 last week at TIAA Bank Field.
