Jaguars vs. Bengals inactives: Westbrook cleared to play, Oliver expected to start

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Dede Westbrook didn’t surface on the team’s inactives list Sunday morning, which means he’s been cleared to take to play against the Cincinnati Bengals Week 7. The news comes after the third-year receiver was ruled questionable Friday with a shoulder injury.

Westbrook will be a welcomed addition with the team’s most experienced receiver, Marqise Lee, out, who sustained an ankle injury in last Sunday’s contest against the New Orleans Saints. As the Jags second-leading receiver, Westbrook could be up for a good day as the Bengals’ secondary will be without its two starting corners in Dre Kirkpatrick and William Jackson III due to injuries.

The Jags also announced that they would be starting rookie tight end Josh Oliver, who has missed two months (dating back to minicamp) with a hamstring injury. Some expected the team to take it slow with him after it was announced he’d play Friday, but with injury to their top-2 tight ends in James O’Shaughnessy (ACL tear) and Geoff Swaim (concussion), it appears the Jags feel the rookie can handle the load after they took their time to let him return.
