Jaguars third-round pick Quincy Williams sustains a foot injury during Day 4 of OTAs

The Jacksonville Jaguars got a little bit of a scare during Tuesday’s offseason team activity session as third-round selection Quincy Williams sustained a foot injury. Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Williams exited the field by cart after having his foot stepped on, but it’s unclear how severe the injury was.

Williams, 22, was one of the biggest topics of Day 2 of the 2019 NFL Draft being that he was a prospect many draft pundits weren’t familiar with. The most notable info most could find on him was that he was the brother of Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, who was drafted in the first-round of April’s draft by the New York Jets. However, after further research, Quincy’s talent became evident as an open field tackler and several other teams like the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers revealed that they were high on him, too.

With the Jags taking Williams in the top-3 rounds, they clearly feel he has starting caliber skills and believe he possibly could play the weak-side linebacker position with Telvin Smith sitting 2019 out. That in mind, hopefully the injury proves to be minor because the weak-side linebacker group is already a questionable one.
