Jaguars sign WR Terry Godwin to practice squad

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free-agent wide receiver Terry Godwin to their practice squad, filling the unit again at 10 players. The Jaguars and the Oakland Raiders had been battling for the rights to receive Keelan Doss, but eventually, the Raiders were able to re-sign the wide receiver to their roster. The Jaguars then went out looking for an extra pass-catcher and ultimately signed the Georgia alum.

A seventh-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers this year, Godwin was one of Georgia’s top receivers for a long period of time. The former Bulldog ended his career in Athens, Georgia with 134 receptions for 1,800 career yards and 11 touchdowns. During final cuts, Godwin was released by Carolina.

He’ll join Michael Walker as one of two receivers on the practice squad. Godwin will wear the No. 19 according to the Jags’ official page.
