Jaguars sign veteran QB Mike Glennon

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran quarterback Mike Glennon the team announced Friday. The move comes after the Jags had interest in Andy Dalton but missed out on him as the veteran signed with the Dallas Cowboys six days ago.

“Mike is entering his eighth season in the NFL and will bring vital experience into our quarterback room and make us a better football team,” said Jags coach Doug Marrone on the team’s official site. “We want to be as strong as possible at every position.”

Glennon, 30, has been a journeyman quarterback since he was drafted out of N.C. State in 2013 (round 3, selection No. 73) by the Tampa Bay Bucs. After spending four seasons there, he spent time with the Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, and Oakland Raiders. With the Raiders, Glennon played under Jon Gruden, brother of Jags coordinator Jay Gruden and was also a part of 2019’s season of “Hard Knocks.”

Glennon will enter his career with the Jags with 22 career starts, a 60.9% completion percentage (488-of-801), 5,163 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 20 picks. He’ll also be entering his seventh season, making him by far the most experienced quarterback on the Jags’ roster.
