Jaguars, rookie receiver Laviska Shenault agree to deal

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. _ One more weapon is on board for the Jaguars' offense for 2020.

Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. signed his rookie contract with the Jaguars, the team announced Thursday.

Shenault, 6-1 and 227 pounds, went to the Jaguars in the second round with the 42nd overall pick in April out of Colorado.

With the Buffaloes, in three seasons, Shenault caught 149 passes for 1,943 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Like the rest of the Jaguars' roster, Shenault's preseason plan has been shaken up by the coronavirus pandemic, which have forced workouts into virtual mode and altered the usual process of acclimating to the new team.

However, last month, Shenault posted video that showed him conducting agility drills.

He is expected to join a receiving corps that includes DJ Chark, Dede Westbrook, Chris Conley, Keelan Cole and fellow rookie Collin Johnson for the 2020 season, as the Jaguars continue seeking targets for quarterback Gardner Minshew.
