Jaguars rookie QB Gardner Minshew sets NFL record in debut

It wasn’t the start the Jacksonville Jaguars wanted, but that doesn’t mean Week 1 was without any bright spots.

After losing starting quarterback Nick Foles to a fractured collarbone, rookie Gardner Minshew stepped in and performed admirably, even in a losing effort.

Along the way, he managed to set an NFL record in the completion percentage department:

It might be easy for Jags fans to be down in the dumps this morning, but things could be worse than having a promising young quarterback to fall back on. After leading Washington State to an incredibly successful season as a graduate transfer last year, Minshew will now have the chance to keep the Jags afloat as an NFL rookie.

He’s off to a strong start so far.
