Jaguars no longer at the bottom of USA Today’s NFL power rankings

Jacksonville’s 31-19 loss to Arizona left a lot to be desired. Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence turned the ball over four times, the defense ran out of steam in the second half and the Jaguars needed a 109-yard kick-six from Jamal Agnew to even make it competitive.

But, it was competitive. At least, for a while. The Jags led at the half, and while they still move to 0-3 on the season, that performance was enough for it to jump a New York Jets team that was shut out by Denver on Sunday in the USA Today Sports NFL power rankings from Nate Davis.

The Jags are now at No. 31 after two weeks in a row in the bottom spot. Here’s what Davis said about Jacksonville.

Welp, at least they’ve figured out the return game, former All-Pro Jamal Agnew providing 100+ runbacks each of the past two weeks.

That runback from Agnew may have been one of the few positive moments from the game, but that’s more than the Jets have to show for their play on Sunday. Zach Wilson tossed two interceptions as the team got goose-egged.

The Jaguars still have a long way to go, but they are at least moving up from the basement of the power rankings this week.
