Jaguars land Alabama LB Dylan Moses in Draft Wire 2020 mock

The Jacksonville Jaguars are taking a break from the field before training camp begins, which makes for the perfect time to look ahead to the 2020 NFL Draft. Our comrades at Draft Wire, who are always hard at work, recently released a mock draft which had the Jags addressing one of their biggest concerns, and that was the linebacking corps with the selection of Alabama’s Dylan Moses.

Dylan Moses | LB | Alabama

In Nick Saban’s 3-4, Moses played a mix of weakside linebacker and middle linebacker, and that has all been due to his tackling abilities. On film, he seems to always be around the ball which is why it isn’t shocking that he’s already accumulated 116 tackles in two seasons. With the staff planning to let him basically be one of the defense’s generals from the MIKE linebacker spot in 2019, it’s very possible he could upwards of 80 tackles to his name this year.

At 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, Moses might be better suited to play weakside backer for the Jags. As most are aware, they are currently in the process of replacing Telvin Smith, who will not play football in 2019. However, the Jags drafted Quincy Williams in April’s draft, who could be the answer. The Jags might also scout Moses as a MIKE linebacker if interested as Myles Jack is on the last year of his deal, although the hope is that he’ll be retained.
