Jaguars hire Dwayne Stukes as defensive assistant

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the addition of Dwayne Stukes as a defensive assistant on Thursday.

Stukes is a former NFL player and longtime assistant coach who has been all around the league, though he did not see significant playing time outside of the preseason. His playing career began in Atlanta with the Falcons for a short stint before playing in Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay up until 2004.

After that, Stukes became a coach in the NFL starting in 2006 with the Buccaneers.  Stukes remained in Tampa under numerous roles through 2011 before joining the Chicago Bears as an assistant special teams coach until 2014.

Since then, Stukes has been an assistant for the New York Giants since 2016 and will now provide assistance to Todd Wash and Dom Capers.
