Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell says team has no major injury concerns for Jawaan Taylor

The Jacksonville Jaguars got the player most thought they would land in the first-round to kick off Day 2 in Florida offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor, which is a big steal in terms of value. The reason he was even available was because of injury concerns with his knee, which was one of the biggest topics of the draft.

Of course, this was one of the first questions the media asked general manager Dave Caldwell about on Friday and he stated that Taylor’s medical grade was “passable” and that the team had no major concerns with the young Gator.

Taylor’s situation is somewhat similar to that of linebacker Myles Jack, who the Jags struck gold with after he fell to them in the second-round of the 2016 NFL Draft due to a knee issue that was believed to potentially need micro-fracture surgery down the road. Yet, here we are about to enter his fourth season and the young linebacker is just fine.

Just as they were with Jack, however, the Jags weren’t hesitant to trade up and get their man, and hopefully, it will have the same type of payoff down the road, which would provide them with a quality starter.
