Jaguars come to terms with sixth-round pick Jalen Camp

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signing of sixth-round rookie Jalen Camp Monday. With the former Georgia Tech receiver putting pen to paper, he became the first Jags’ selection from the 2021 class to sign with the team.

Camp was the Jags’ last selection in this year’s draft. They selected him with pick No. 209 and he became the fourth player ever selected from Georgia Tech by the organization.

Camp is believed to be a developmental receiver for the Jags when considering he’s coming into the league with just 48 catches for 808 yards and five touchdowns. He’ll be joining the Jags after registering a career-high of 27 receptions for 439 receiving yards and four touchdowns last season.

Camp caught the eyes of the NFL after testing well during his pro day. He registered a 4.43 40-yard dash time, a 39.5-inch vertical jump, and put up 30 bench press reps (at 225 pounds).

Camp will join the Jags’ receivers group which is loaded with talent at the top with names like DJ Chark Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr., and Marvin Jones Jr. If Camp does make their final roster, it will have to be as the sixth receiver, which would put him in a battle with a receiver like Phillip Dorsett.
