The Miami Dolphins are facing their dress rehearsal with the Jacksonville Jaguars this week — but questions lingered on who exactly would be playing for the Jaguars against Miami. After all, starting left tackle Cam Robinson was on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list a week and a half ago. Starting quarterback Nick Foles hadn’t seen the field — instead it was rookie Gardner Minshew who served as Jacksonville’s starter against the Eagles last week.
And would the Jaguars protect their talented defense and keep them off the field in an exhibition match?
We now have our answer. In short — the Jaguars are going to let their talent play against the Dolphins. Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone announced yesterday that 9 Jaguars were deemed out of Thursday’s showdown with the Dolphins. Could the team add more? Absolutely. But for now, these nine players are confirmed to be out:

- RB Alfred Blue
- LB Jake Ryan
- LB Quincy Williams
- LB Davis Tull
- TE Charles Jones
- TE Geoff Swaim
- TE Josh Oliver
- DT Marcell Dareus
The good news for the Dolphins? The team is going to get a great test. Preston Williams will be a better player at the end of Thursday for going against Jalen Ramsey in the first quarter. The Dolphins secondary, boosted by the return of safety Reshad Jones, will get a great test in quarterback Nick Foles making his debut with Jacksonville.
And with kickoff tomorrow, the window is closing for anyone else to have the plug pulled from participating on Jacksonville’s behalf.
