Jaguars bring back DL Lyndon Johnson to fill out 90-man roster

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ roster is now back to 90 players after the abrupt retirement of safety Zedrick Woods. In fact, the spot has been filled with a familiar face in defensive lineman Lyndon Johnson, who the team released in June.

Johnson, 25, joined the Jags in 2018 as an undrafted player after playing collegiate football at the University of Cincinnati. After not making their 53-man roster after training camp last year, the team signed him to their practice squad in September. Before the season could end, Johnson found himself getting promoted to the main roster in late December and played in the Jags’ last three games. During that process he was able to accumulate two tackles.

At 6-foot-5, 287-pounds, Johnson will get a chance to play at the big-end position for the Jags where they could use some help behind Calais Campbell. According to the Jags’ official page, he’ll wear his old No. 92 upon his return.
