Jaguar Land Rover unveils new Range Rover model

Luxury car brand Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled its new Range Rover.

The arrival of the all-new version has been described by the manufacturer as "a once in a decade moment" and marks the fifth generation variant of a vehicle which began its life back in 1970.

It has both standard and long-wheelbase versions and also SV versions and the long-wheel base model is capable of carrying seven people on three rows of seats.

It has diesel, petrol and both mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid options but there will not be an all-electric version until 2024, reports CoventryLive.

JLR is headquartered in Coventry and has plants in Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Merseyside - and Solihull where this new Range Rover is being built.

Chief executive Thierry Bolloré said: "The new Range Rover is a superb manifestation of our vision to create the world's most desirable luxury vehicles, for the most discerning of customers.

"It writes the next chapter in the unique story of pioneering innovation that has been a Range Rover hallmark for more than 50 years."

The new Range Rover is available in SE, HSE and Autobiography models.

The car also has Amazon's Alexa technology which enables owners to manage everything from infotainment features and music track selection to navigation or phone contacts.

The system can even turn on lights at the driver's home and connect to other Alexa-enabled devices.
