Jags’ Tony Khan inks a deal with TNT to air his wrestling league

The wrestling community received some monumental news Wednesday morning thanks to Jacksonville Jaguars vice president of football administration and technology, Tony Khan, who inked a deal with TNT for his new wrestling company All Elite Wrestling. The move is one that now puts AEW in prime position to compete with World Wrestling Entertainment.

Khan, 36, of course, is the son of Jags owner Shad Khan, who was the lead investor for AEW. Since making the company an official thing at the Jags’ home stadium, TIAA Bank Field, AEW has made great strides, including the announcement of the company’s first pay-per-view event “Double or Nothing”, landing marquee wrestling stars like Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega and forming a partnership with Oriental Wrestling Entertainment.

As for their deal with TNT, AEW will have a weekly prime time television show on the network similar to how World Championship Wrestling did back in the day. However, with AEW being an independently owned product coming to TNT, things could go a lot better for Khan and his group of talented wrestlers. Additionally, the deal will allow AEW to air their pay-per-view events on Bleacher Report Live, which is part of the Turner Broadcasting family alongside TNT.
