Jags sign TE Bug Howard, DE Aaron Patrick along with other transactions

The Jacksonville Jaguars started the week by making transactions as they normally do and signed two new members to their practice squad. Those players were tight end Jonathan “Bug” Howard and defensive end Aaron Patrick.

Howard initially entered the league as an undrafted player with the Indianapolis Colts in 2017 after playing collegiately at North Carolina. Afterward, he spent more time in the NFL making stops with the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and Denver Broncos and also made stops with the AAF’s Atlanta Legends and the Alphas of The Spring League.

Patrick attended Eastern Kentucky in 2019 and was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press and Walter Camp Foundation. While at ECU he was able to garner 27.5 sacks, good for second in school history.

The league also activated Jags defensive tackle Daniel Ross from the team’s exempt/commissioner permission list. The Jags claimed him off waivers last week from the Las Vegas Raiders, but he had to clear the NFL’s COVID-19 testing and screening protocols.

Fullback Bruce Miller was restored to the Jags’ practice squad after being placed on the practice squad suspension list for six games for performance-enhancing drugs.

The Jags also released two players from their practice squad in Evan Boehm and cornerback Trevor Williams, and one player from their active roster in defensive end Reggie Gilbert.
