Jags make first AAF addition of the season by signing DB Cody Brown

While the Jacksonville Jaguars have one of the better secondaries in football, there is always room for better depth behind their starters. That’s exactly why they saw fit to pounce on the opportunity to land former Alliance of American Football safety Cody Brown this week, who started multiple games with the Salt Lake Stallions.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 207 pounds, Brown played in all eight games for the Stallions this past season before the AAF ceased operations and was able to accumulate 40 tackles and an interception while there. Prior, he played collegiate football at Arkansas State where he was named to the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List in 2016 and earned second team All-Sun Belt honors a year prior in 2015. Before that he spent two years at Independence Community College in Kansas.

On their official web site, the Jags listed Brown as a cornerback, so it appears he will make a position change. He’ll wear the No. 39 in the process as A.J. Bouye currently has the number he wore with the Stallions (No. 21).
