Jags LT Cam Robinson to begin training camp on PUP list

Coming into training camp, one of the biggest questions we had surrounding the Jacksonville Jaguars was the status of left tackle Cam Robinson who wasn’t expected to take the field for training camp. And while we still don’t know his status in terms of a specific return date, we now know he’ll begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list thanks to Ian Rapoport.

Jags coach Doug Marrone told the media that Robinson and receiver Marqise Lee would be the only two players who wouldn’t be able to start training camp back in June, so his placement on the PUP list isn’t a shocker. Of course, the reason he’ll miss training camp is to rehab his ACL, which he tore Week 2 in the regular season against the New England Patriots.

Robinson’s listing on the PUP list doesn’t mean he won’t be able to go for the regular season as most believe, instead it just means he won’t take the practice field with the active players and will continue his recovery process. However, if he isn’t able to go the Jags will have to either rely on Robinson’s backup from last season in swing tackle Josh Wells or Cedric Ogbuehi, both of whom should be viewed as questionable options.
