Jags have met with Boston College LB Isaiah McDuffie

According to the Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Jags have shown interest in Boston College linebacker Isaiah McDuffie and have met with him virtually this offseason. The Jags were one of 12 teams who Melo reported has met with McDuffie, with others like the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, and New Orleans Saints also showing interest.

McDuffie, who is leaving Boston College with 233 total tackles (15.5 of which are for loss), started his time with the Eagles as a special teamer as a freshman and registered 11 tackles after playing in all 13 games. As a sophomore, he started to see time on the field as a strong-side linebacker and was second on the team in tackles that season (2018) with 85.

As a junior, a lower-body injury limited him to just four games where he registered 30 tackles, but he bounced back during his senior year playing in 11 games and registering a career-high of 107 tackles.

At 6-foot-1, 224 pounds, McDuffie is viewed as a prospect who is likely to go undrafted, though there is a chance he is selected late in April’s process. For the Jags, it would be unlikely for him to see much time on the field on defense out of the gate, but with Urban Meyer being big on special teams, he’s a player who the Jags may be looking at to help Brian Schneider’s unit while developing.
