Jags exit Week 6’s loss to Saints with 2 notable injuries

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their second straight game of this month thanks to the New Orleans Saints and they also came out of the matchup with some notable injuries. Veteran Marqise Lee left with a right foot injury after being rolled up and Geoff Swaim exited the game with a concussion.

Lee’s injury came in the third quarter during a Leonard Fournette rush. He was stalk blocking up the field for Fournette and was rolled up under defensive back Vonn Bell, who was trying to make the tackle. He appeared to be in visible pain on the field and had to be helped into the medical room of the stadium due to not being able to put pressure on his foot. After the game, coach Doug Marrone said he saw Lee walking around but didn’t have an update on his situation.

Swaim exited the game in the fourth quarter due to sustaining a concussion. He was running a crossing pattern across the field and Saints linebacker Demario Davis laid a hard hit on him. Davis didn’t appear to have bad intentions, however, it was a bang-bang play where there wasn’t much that could be done to avoid the brutal collision. There wasn’t an update provided on Swaim’s situation afterward but we’ll probably know more on Monday.

Jags nickleback D.J. Hayden also had to be taken off the field for a concussion evaluation early in the fourth quarter, however, he was later cleared to return to the game.
