The Jacksonville Jaguars took the practice fields at TIAA Bank Field for their third consecutive week of organized team activities Monday, and it once again was another session in which the offense put on an impressive aerial display. Of course, leading the way in that process was none other than Nick Foles, who continued to impress as he has all summer.
The veteran started the day dropping dimes in the team’s 7-on-7 drill linking up deep with two other OTA stars in Keelan Cole and Chris Conley. However, the display didn’t stop there as he also linked up with a name fans haven’t heard much from in second-year receiver C.J. Board.
After watching the first-team impress, Jags reserves Gardner Minshew and Tyre Brady also had a highlight moment Monday, as the two linked up for a beautiful arching pass in the back of the end zone during red-zone drills. Both rookies are two names we believe could make the team, and with OTAs wrapping up, it would be nice to see the two gain some momentum heading into mandatory mini-camp.
Other Day 7 tidbits and absences
- Guard Andrew Norwell missed Monday’s session with an ankle sprain. However, coach Doug Marrone told the media that he thought it was minor and simply wanted to play it smart with the veteran.
- Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, tailback Leonard Fournette and receivers Dede Westbrook and Marqise Lee missed Monday’s practice after missing time last week, too. Ngakoue’s situation, of course, is tied to his contract situation as he’s on the last year of his rookie deal.
- Linebacker Myles Jack and safety Ronnie Harrison were new additions to the absentee list after missing their first days Monday.
- Jalen Ramsey also missed Monday’s session as he continues to train in Tennessee.
- Veteran cornerback A.J. Bouye continued to practice on the side Monday as he did last week.
- Defensive lineman Calais Campbell met with the media Monday to discuss how OTAs have gone so far. He also told the media that he was holding on to a small bit of hope that veteran linebacker Telvin Smith would return in 2019.
