Jags come to terms with sixth-round selection Jake Luton

With rookies reporting to the Jacksonville Jaguars facility for COVID-19 testing, the team also was able to sign the remainder of their draft picks, including Oregon State quarterback and sixth-rounder Jake Luton.

While Luton was a late-round selection, he intrigued teams with his size, standing at 6-foot-6, 224-pounds. Additionally, he worked in a pro-style scheme with the Beavers, which is often a plus for NFL scouts.

Luton will join starter Gardner Minshew II, Joshua Dobbs, and veteran Mike Glennon in the quarterback room alongside positions coach Ben McAdoo. Chances are the team will look at him as a developmental project to stash on practice squad, then again, there may be a need for more quarterbacks on the main roster due to COVID-19.

While with the Beavers in 2019, Luton was able to accumulate a 62% completion rate (222-of-358) for 2,714 yards and 28 touchdowns with just three interceptions. He also previously spent time at the University of Idaho and Ventura College before finding his way to Division 1.
