REPORT: Jags bring back LB Joe Giles-Harris on practice squad

A day after waiving him from their main roster, the Jacksonville Jaguars were able to bring back linebacker Joe Giles-Harris to their practice squad. To make room on the 10-man unit the team linebacker Deshaun Davis.

Giles-Harris, 22, was waived Tuesday as a result of the Jags claiming linebacker Austin Calitro from the Seattle Seahawks. While the Jags would’ve been fine with holding on to Giles-Harris because of the solid preseason he had, Calitro simply offered more regular season experience as he started in five games with Seattle and played in all of their games in 2018, too.

Giles-Harris was one of the Jags’ undrafted pickups who joined the team directly after the 2019 NFL Draft out of Duke University. He managed to accumulate 15 tackles while playing in all four preseason games and starting in the Jags’ preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons. As a result of impressing the staff, he was able to make the final 53-man roster and was one of two undrafted rookies to make the team alongside Andrew Wingard. If he continues to impress in practice and develop as a player, it wouldn’t be shocking to eventually see him back on the main roster at some point during the 2019 regular season.
