With the Jacksonville Jaguars concluding offseason training activities Friday, fans will get a little break before their three-day mandatory minicamp, which begins on Tuesday, June 11 and ends Thursday, June 13.
In preparations for the next phase, the Jags’ public relations department released their media schedule for mandatory mini-camp, which will begin with coach Doug Marrone and cornerback Jalen Ramsey taking the podium Day 1. On Tuesday, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo will meet with the media alongside quarterback Nick Foles, while defensive coordinator Todd Wash and Marrone will take the podium on the last day.
Phase 3 rules will still apply for mandatory mini-camp, which means no contact is allowed, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills will all be permitted. According to the collective bargaining agreement, the Jags are permitted to have two-a-day practices during two of their three mini-camp days, but one of the two practices on the day has to be a walkthrough. No single practice is allowed to be longer than two and a half hours and teams can only practice for a total of three and a half hours on the day.
Most of the notable names on the roster will be able to participate, but the key players who are expected to sit out with injuries are first-round pick Josh Allen (knee bruise) and fifth-round pick Ryquell Armstead (hamstring), while receiver Marqise Lee is guaranteed to sit out. Offensive tackle Cam Robinson also is expected to not participate in team drills as he’ll continue to rehab his knee like Lee.
