Jags announce their annual State of the Franchise will be on Thursday

The 2019 NFL Draft is right around the corner, which means the Jacksonville Jaguars’ annual State of the Franchise presentation is, too. Per the Jags’ public relations manager, Tad Dickman, the event will take place this Thursday, April 18, in the Lower East Club of TIAA Bank Field where owner Shad Khan, team president Mark Lamping and football operations executive Tom Coughlin will all speak.

For those who can recall, the State of the Franchise is a yearly event in which Jaguars vice president Mark Lamping gives Jags fans a rundown on some important financial info concerning the team, like ticket sales insight, the Jags’ economic impact and much more. In last year’s event, fans got their first look at the team’s new uniforms and were given a look of a rendering that mapped out their plans for Lot J, which included a sports complex.

This year, with a boom and improvements going on downtown, it appears the Jags may give a new update on Lot J, which hopefully includes a financial plan and a potential date for construction to begin. In the last State of the Franchise presentation, the Jags announced that they’d be working with Coordish Companies throughout the process, who specializes in building sports entertainment venues and one would expect they’ll be heavily involved again if progress was made. Ultimately, we’ll have to wait as the week progresses for more details, as offseason training workouts will be kicking off Monday.
