Jags announce media schedule for next week’s OTAs

With offseason training activities coming up for the Jacksonville Jaguars Tuesday, the team’s public relations department has finalized their press conference schedule. According to the team’s public relations manager, Tad Dickman, it will include a presser with coach Doug Marrone and defensive lineman Calais Campbell on the opening day. Offensive coordinator John DeFilippo and quarterback Nick Foles will take the podium Thursday, while Marrone will take the podium again on Friday before running backs coach Terry Roniskie and Leonard Fournette speak after practice.

For those unfamiliar with Phase 3 of OTAs, basically it’s the phase in which the offense and defense can practice against each other as 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills will all be permitted. The Jags will have 10 total days of OTAs, which includes May 21, May 23-24, May 28, May 30-31, June 3-4, June 6-7.

Some of the top storylines that will be worth watching includes the offense learning a new system under John DeFilippo, the new additions made to his unit in Foles, receiver Chris Conley and many others, and the battle for Telvin Smith’s vacant weak-side linebacker spot. Of course, we’ll have all the latest in team news here at the Jags Wire throughout the coming weeks and during the preseason.
