Jags amongst several teams to watch supplemental draft prospect WR Marcus Simms

Supplemental Draft prospect and West Virginia receiver Marcus Simms worked out for several teams Monday, and according to DraftAnalyst.com’s Tony Pauline, the Jacksonville Jaguars were amongst the group.

The young receiver measured in at 5-foot-11 and 188 pounds according to Pauline, and posted a vertical jump of 36 inches. He also posted a broad jump of 10-foot-2.5, short shuttle time of 4.19 seconds, a three-cone time of 6.91 seconds and ran the 40 three times, registering a 4.49, 4.45 and 4.40, respectively.

While with the Mountaineers he started 10 games and played in 33. Over the course of his three seasons in West Virginia, he managed to accumulate a total of 87 catches, 1,457 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

The Jags have never entered the Supplemental Draft, so it’s unlikely that will change this year. However, it doesn’t hurt to do their homework on a prospect.
