Jags add depth on the OL by signing Leonard Wester

The Jacksonville Jaguars depth on the offensive line once again increased this week after the team added former Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran tackle Leonard Wester on Wednesday. The move comes after also bringing back reserve swing tackle Josh Wells this week and Tyler Shatley last week.

Wester, 26, joined the Bucs in 2016 as an undrafted player from Missouri Western University and spent three seasons with them before becoming a free agent. While in Tampa he was coached by current Jags offensive line coach George Warhop and played in a total of 27 games with 16 of those games occurring last season. He also got his first an only start last year in December at right tackle against the Carolina Panthers.

With Wester now joining the Jags, he’ll actually have a chance to compete to be a starter at right tackle though it’s a strong possibility the position is will Richardson’s to take. Even if he can’t beat out Richardson, it’s still good that the Jags at least have depth at the position as Wester now gives them five tackles on the roster.
